Supplements

Vitamin or nutritional supplements produce chemical reactions in your body.

They interact with any medications you might be taking.

They are not closely monitored by the FDA, so technically could have anything in them. If they prove harmful, the FDA will come in to the rescue. The FDA will not, however, determine whether or not the vitamins truly have in them what they say they have.

Local grocery stores and most chain stores carry products that aren't monitored. If you buy from them, chances are great that you are just throwing your money down the drain. (Or really, flushing it down the toilet.)

Choose companies that either (1) are pharmaceutical grade or (2) are tested by a neutral third party.

Trusted Companies

New Chapter is the most reliable over the counter company. They have high integrity and provide high quality products.

The products carried by Vitamin Cottage are also of a very high quality. They are very strict with the products they are willing to sell in their store. Anything they carry is likely to be good.

Pharmaceutical Grade nutritional products are the highest quality you will find. You can purchase these from your chiropractor, osteopathic physician or natural pharmacy (such as Pharmica).
