Wellness - Your Body Wellness - Your Mind/Soul About This Website
About Meridian Tapping or EFT
You can use Meridian Tapping to release the negative emotional charge connected to experiences in your past.
Another way to say it is that there are breaks within the body's energy system are the underlying causes of physical, emotional and mental distress. They create your underlying beliefs that keep you safe, or that kept you safe at one time, but are no longer necessary. But they are unconscious and rooted within us.
These breaks are caused by intense and often unconscious emotions that were created by incidents (observed or experienced) in the past.
By tapping on the meridians and making targeted statments, the intensity of these emotions is neutralized.
This creates a sense of freedom, peace, health and wellness that could not be experienced before. It is a painless and simple process. And the release of these is often so subtle that you don't even notice that you've done something different.
So, maybe you would like a real example? My story of how it helped me get this website going is at the bottom of the page after the "how to" instructions.
This video, which is from Try It On Everything and gives an excellent account of how Emotional Freedom Technique works. (They also hosted the EFT World Summit.)
Don't let anyone fool you, Meridian Tapping is really simple to do. There are books and programs that teach all sorts of different ways and methods for tapping.
Let's just keep it simple (and effective, of course.)
There is a complicated series of procedures for use when you get stuck on one of your BIG blocks. But, we're not dealing with those here.
(You know it's a big one when it doesn't budge.)
1. Think about something, like your weight or your income - something that gives you an emotional charge (a negative one.)
2. Rate the charge on a scale of 1 to 10. 1 is barely there, 10 is as high as you can get. (The goal is to get the charge down to zero.)
3. Tap on the meridian points that are in on the tapping points page.
4. Tap making statements about how you feel or what you think or what you remember. There are samples of what you can say on the Peak Life Tapping page.
5. After a couple of rounds, take a deep breath, and relax.
And that's it.
This is just the introduction. If you prefer to look at someone doing it, then you might consider bookmarking this page.
I'll be making a video of doing the meridian tapping so you can see it. (It will be done by the end of September 2009.)
FYI - EFT is more structured than Meridian Tapping. Both are effective!
Bonnie's Meridian Tapping Experience (well, one of them anyway)
The reason you're reading this website is because I used Meridan Tapping and EFT. My deal was that I didn't feel it was safe to be seen and reveal my thoughts to others.
Can you imagine publishing these pages online and being absolutely convinced that some danger will befall you if you let others read it? It's a no-brainer that I would NOT put myself in danger. But tell THAT to my unconscious, underlying "I'm-going-to-protect-you-no-matter-what" belief system!
I knew that I wanted to do this website, so I did the easy part. I purchased the site name. (Yea! I was in action! Good for me, I said!)
Anyway, when I started the Meridian Tapping, I had a school memory from when I was just a kid, and keeping my mouth shut and my opinions to myself DID protect me.
I could understand that intellectually. Most of the memories I tapped on were familiar to me. I'd journaled about them and talked about them.
But they were STILL running the show because of the emotional charge. Basically, my mind got it, but my actions wouldn't follow suit.
For example, I made action steps and goals. Then I had other things to do. Then I lost my sheet of paper that listed them. Then I put it aside again. Blah blah blah. I told myself that I had to relax more, so I would read novels rather than working on this.
One day, I said to myself, "Self. You are full of it. Either get with the program or cancel your website."
So, I sat down to do the website and decided to take ACTION. I took an online HTML class (even though you don't need one to use this program that I'm typing in.
I wanted to make it prettier than it is.) I was "IN ACTION." I spent many hours and three months on the program.
Then it finished and I STILL sat on doing it. Had other things to do. Important things. After over a year, it hit me that I was swimming in a sea of self-sabotage.
I decided to search for a meridian tapping program that might work. I came across Carol Look's CDs on abundance. She's someone who I wouldn't mind listening to for hours. (If their voice bugged me, I would not listen to their CDs.) I purchased them.
I listened to the CDs and tap-tap-tapped away.
She has a CD in the set that addresses procrastination. I listened to it about half-way through 12 CDs in the set.
I was on a meridian tapping extravaganza, but I didn't notice much, just more of a calm feeling at the thought of doing presentations and having the website up.
During these CDs, I was visiting my very mature parents (really, they are elderly, I just call them 'very mature' so they feel younger ;)
There I was with a trimmer in 90 degree plus weather, working away on their shrubbery. The first day I had to stop because the sun came out and it was SO hot.
The second day, I started earlier. It was still cool enough to work, but I was pretty much done. Not too tired, I just didn't want to do anymore.
I said "Ah, I'll just do it tomorrow." (That was a statement from my past. Put it off a bit. "It'll still be there tomorrow" I was frequently heard saying.)
Then I looked at what was left. Pondered what needed to be done. Shrugged. And spent the next 45 minutes finishing up.
There was no pushing against my own resistance like I normally would have had. I just did it. And that didn't hit me until after I'd finished.
THAT is how subtle this works.
There was NO emotional charge and it was incredibly natural.
Later that day, I sat down to my website to get started again. Again, no emotional charge. Just "I'll do this now." Calmly and clearly.
And I worked on it the next day.
And the next.
And the next.
And the results continue.
Yes, it's that simple.
